At Emento, we are excited to announce the “Digital Patient Guide Network” - an inspiring community across hospitals in the Central Denmark Region, consisting of 130 healthcare professionals. They are coming together to transform the way we in healthcare communicate with patients. The network celebrated its 1st birthday in June 2024.

“We don't have to reinvent the wheel"

The initiative for the network comes from the Central Denmark Region's team behind The Patient Guide from Emento, who saw the potential in creating a space for nurses, doctors, secretaries and generally all interested healthcare professionals who use the Emento Patient Guide platform in their daily work - or who are just curious about what it's all about.
“When you're developing something new, you can sometimes feel like you're all alone. That's why we started the network to meet four times a year with colleagues who are also working to transform healthcare and the way we communicate with patients. The network is not about professional specialties or where you physically have your workplace, but about experiencing a community around creating change.”
- says Trine Bruun Lebel, Implementation Consultant in Digitization & IT and part of the Central Denmark Region team behind The Patient Guide.
Rikke Mossin, Development Nurse at Operation and Intensive Care at Randers Regional Hospital, is one of the members of the network and a daily user of the Patient Guide. She says that it is important to gather across hospitals and municipalities to share knowledge - and thus “avoid reinventing the wheel”, and elaborates,
“Emento Patient Guide is a new digital initiative, so it's important to meet across hospitals and municipalities and exchange experiences. It's relationship building that helps to support the digital initiative. It allows us to look across hospitals and be inspired."

How does the network benefit in everyday life?

The members meet four times a year to be inspired and share challenges, solutions and successes in designing, developing and maintaining patient journeys via the Emento Patient Guide platform, says Mette Idskou, Implementation Consultant in Digitalization & IT and part of the Central Denmark Region's team behind the Patient Guide. It can be concrete tips or ideas that you can try out at the hospital ward. It can also be new names on your list of go-to people that you can reach out to when you need sparring again. They often go home with a renewed spirit and enthusiasm after a meeting, because as Mette Idskou says,
“It's contagious to be with other enthusiasts and feel part of a movement.”
Rikke Mossin says that one of her practical takeaways from the meetings in the network has been solutions for types of patient courses and their implementation. She elaborates,
“For example, how we can present the digital Patient Guide to patients so that we can get more people involved. We have been shown new features in the system and had the opportunity to ask questions. This is much better than getting them in newsletters, as a newsletter can disappear in other emails, so it's better to have it shown.”
At Emento, we applaud initiatives like the Digital Patient Guide Network. We work to build bridges between disciplines and sectors because we know that collaboration and mutual learning is the strongest path to lasting improvements and innovation in the healthcare system.
