Emento understands and respects the need for privacy of personal information when using our service. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.
What do we do?
EMENTO is a personal communication tool for healthcare communication with public hospitals in Denmark.
The content which is organized in collaboration with the hospital, includes lists of activities, overview of your treatment, a message function and a profile with personal information.
When you sign up to the service you are requested to provide explicit consent, and agree to the EMENTO terms and conditions to get the maximum benefit from the services we provide. When using our service, we may collect data about you, as follows:
To register in the iOS or Android app, you are required to use your Social Security Number. To verify your identity, you are then asked to log in with NemID the first time you use the service.
When you create a profile, we ask for your name, gender, date of birth and location, to tailor our service to your situation and circumstances.
Additionally, we may collect other information when using our products that helps us improve our service to you and maintain operational levels. This information cannot be used to identify you. It includes: device model, OS version and location, so we know how best to support you and your devices and any other data needed for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes.
How do we use your information?
We use your information to organize the content and present it in a way that ensures the best possible communication between you and the hospital.
When entering your Social Security Number, activities, appointments and information is adapted to meet the needs for your specific procedures.
How do we protect your information?
We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.
We only provide articles, videos and information. We never ask for credit card numbers.
We use regular Malware Scanning.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

How long do we use and store your information?
Your personal information is available to you in your EMENTO account at all times via your device used to access our system and services.
You are entitled to know whether we hold information about you and, if we do, to have access to that information and require it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. You can do so by contacting Emento (details below) or alternatively you can access, review and edit your information via the EMENTO service.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your Personally Identifiable Information to outside parties.
We do not include or offer third-party products or services in the app or on our website.
Where’s your data stored?
The data that we collect from you is stored at a destination inside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).
What do we do, should a data breach occur:
We will notify the users via in-site notification within 1 business day.
We also agree to the Individual Redress Principle which requires that individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.
